Karla, a reminder of the tragedy Americans suffered on this day in 1941...yes, all of America was surprised & stunned to think we could come under attack. Many American Soldiers lost their lives...how can we ever forget! You've captured such an inspiring piece of American History...a reminder and a great writing.

We were innocent in that particular period in our attempts to remain neutral until that day woke us up. Japan knew they had awakened a sleeping giant. There is no such thing as a good war but this one certainly was necessary. Excellent write.

Thank God for that day, as it saved the world in the long run. Churchill jumped for joy as Germany and Japan declared war on america.
Else the world would still be in darkness? as i'm not sure if our country was enough to fight them alone, yet 911 an 77 had a similar tone.

I can never understand why africa, east europe and asia, see america as a bully to be rid of. Yet I'm sure americans must feel angry at being soooo misunderstood. I wonder what the world would be like if Russia had the bomb first. Here it seems like only us appreciate america, in all of the northern hemisphere, and our commonwealth too.

Pearle harbour is typical america. Making lemonade out of lemons, i think your saying goes.

Although a dark day in history it lead to freedom of the world and saved the jewish race. Only America has such a large heart which went out and saved the world....

Great write Karla. We must never forget the horror of that sneak attack. They were no better than the terrorists who attacked the twin towers. My father was at Pearl. I've visited there twice. To me, it will always be a day that will live in infamy. Sad though; so many have forgotten. I hope they enjoy their Toyotas, Nissans and Subarus as more and more Americans lose their jobs everyday. No, they are not made in America. They are assembled here. Don't get me started on my soap box on this. Just one last thing to say then I'll shut up.
