Sane poets,now there's a thought! Write what your heart and soul tell you. If it is liked by others fine. If it is not, too bad. I used to worry a little about acceptance of my work by others. My writing peers in particular. But for a long time now I have adopted an attitude of; I'll give it from my heart and soul, keep it down to earth, attempt to write poems that make a difference. And if I fail,too bad. I am not going to let that detract from my enjoyment of plying the art as best I can. But why would you worry about your work anyway? I look at the number of poems you have penned and just the number of reviews. Both are staggering! And that does not include who knows how many read and didn't have the time to leave a review. If your worried, I need to trash my pens and paper and take up another form of relaxation. God bless. JMW

We all need breaks, from time to time; they truly soothe the soul.

Is this called writer's block? Then if it is, I join you. I just can't seem to sit at my computer long enough to write anything except these reviews. Then the outdoors call to me and I hurry out into the beautiful morning freshness, enjoy the still cool air and my rose bushes. Sometimes we all need a change of pace.

Karla, you are going through something that I think we have all gone through from time to time...and I guess will continue to go through. Hang in there!

We all go through this emotion at one time or another. Many days I just call it quit on everything that I have been doing. Then I just sat around all day doing nothing. We're like balloons, keep on blowing and blowing until we reach the breaking point, and then...let the air out...and begin all over again.

In the meantime, sit back, and relax, then come back later.

Such refreshing honesty of the trials and tribulations of poets and their lifes, I think I'll join you for a while Karla, you might be starting a trend, we better let Matt know hm, or maybe hedge our bets till the next Storm, and Drang, needs expression right....

I can understand where you are coming from and I do have some advice be it ever so humble, take your break but while you are taking it look outside the box as they say...your talent for writing on weather etc is unquestionable but now maybe it is time to seek out and look for other topics and types of writing. Just an idea but I think you need to find a new challenge.

Hang in there my friend...please for the den would not be the same without you. I so enjoy reading your wonderful work and looking at your beautiful photos. It is true that a poet does feel deeper than most, see things with more passion...we tend to see a story in everything...this describes you my friend. Take a short break if you need a little time, but please don't linger away from the den as a poet such as yourself needs to be heard, I have found when other things in life press me down creating less time for me at the den I am not as fulfilled as I am when I am able to visit the den on a regular basis to write and read others who share many of the passions that I do...words are powerful and a poet/authors words should be heard. Write on my friend....

Kimmy is so very true, please don't go....can i beg you? okay well, how about just a few days vacation, I love to read from you but I know you have to rest,but never left the stupid opinions of anyone stop you or break you for whatever reason, you are perfectly normal and beautiful too. Love the double effect of that pic!

Oh! ...but we do go on Karla, some days we feel this way, some days another, many times we feel the fire burning within and other times, cold as ice, ready to throw in the towel...AND sometimes, ready to pick up the pieces...it's all in a matter of choice. No, we can't choose to be successful, we either are or we are not. But, with success and failure come the good and the bad. Wrigt on (build on what you thirst for) Write on, because you can...and you have the gift to do so...AND Right on, with this poem, girl...:)

Sorry I have been in and out and mostly, out...my life needed breathing room and contemplative sessions to keep me sane...
Do what you must and make it quick!

I wish I knew what to do to help you, but I don't. It's something that only you have to work out. All I CAN do is pray, be there for you, support you and your words. Being a good poet does NOT depend on how many reviews (or trackers) you get. You write for YOU, don't worry what others think. I do wish you'd get more reviews; you deserve them!! You are an awesome poet, and to give up your words would be the worst thing you can do.

Don't give up. I need to read your words; so do many others. We believe in you, even if you feel otherwise.
