bodies airbrushed onto
our eyes by the media;
not the multimillioned
glory given to some for
a few hours of work;
not those who write or
sing their words in our
hands or onto our ears:
famous ...
those that signed their name
and raised their hand;
those that donned the uniform
and served their country;
those who went to war: some
came home, some didn't;
those that gave everything of
themselves for our freedoms --
these are my heroes. V.I.P.s.
of all of the significant figures in the history of mankind, none can hold a candle to those brave American soldiers that with their blood and selfless effort created and have maintinted the greatest democracy ever -- may God bless them everyone -- peace and love to you on a brilliant write in their honor -- JMW
Corporate America want you to forget so more soldiers can be send to defend and conquer their interest abroad.

As long as you do not forget, and I do not forget (and we will make sure that no one else forgets), all will be well.
Thank you for honoring our vets, and the ones in active duty as the war continues. Some go on with their lives and do not ever think about those whom have given and are giving to keep us and others free.

it is Poppy day soon, i don't think people really forget what is known, everyone has their story, if it is known to them, their family story, our history, and war, a part of our lives, touches all in one way or another - we are all survivors of something or other, and there are many days and ways to remember, rememberance is good, educates, good to try and understand complexities of macro history, and to respect the micro tales of individuals - it is important, war (and peace) has heroes, villians, victims, survivors - bravery, sacrifice and all the rest, and is for me and so many others as much a matter of damage and loss as it is of freedom and liberation - war hurts, continues way after it is declared over, and so we have minutes of silence to reflect respectfully on the journey made by those with choice and no choice, and all individual and collective acts that bring us all to where we are - now - your song for Very Important Persons, today read by me and others, the title reminding me of a poem R.I.P.V.I.P, i wrote once for one of mine. Patriotism and sacrifice, what is won and lost, and so much more to think about with much respect to the V.I.Ps you remember in your poem today - thanks Karla, Nicky xx
