I know how you feel. I have an older sis, who seemed to be more popular than me...with everyone. The boys didn't like me, either. When I started writing, I felt like I belonged for the first time. You, too? Thanks for sharing this, Karla. I love your ability to show your vulnerable side.

Nothing is worse than what I had endured in high school. The boy was so cruel:

He held a party at his house, invited my two best friends, knowing that we always went everywhere together as a team of three, but this boy purpose only invited my two best friends and excluded me out of his party. Almost the whole class was invited, except me.

Later, I saw him out on the street, and the reason he gave me for not inviting was that there were too many people, and he only had a small place, so he couldn't invite me.

Oh...yeah!...but I was just a skinny girl, I wasn't even 85 pounds!!! I didn't require much room to be invited!!!

Later I learned that he actually had a crush on one of my best friends, and he didn't really want me to get in the way or something, as if I really cared. Boys!!! Sometimes they are so ignorant and cruel!!!

But Karla, how can you say you're not popular? You're the most popular angel here in AD!!!

Your writing is good Karla and it brightens my life for sure. Not this one however as it is much too sad. I think you need to look inside and see what the rest of us see; a kind and loving, warm hearted person who has simple wants and needs like all of us do.

Karla, there are three things that I know you do well. 1) You are a really fine poet. Don't let pompous know-it-all jerkoff's lead you into believing anything less. 2) You are a great photographer. 3) Where ever you go, you leave happy pixie dust behind. You always show people, on AD at least, integrity and respect. I just thought of a fourth thing, you are loved and admired by your fans. Now go wipe your tears away. I think, and I often doubt myself as well Karla, the trick is that you are good and you know that so you only have to make yourself happy with your work and with your life. No one else's opinion can really make a difference althought it is nice to be achknowledged by our peers from time to time.
