Reminds me of when my older bro used to pick on my Basset Hound, Flash. He would antagonize her until she bit. Then he'd spank her nose as if it was somehow her fault. The last line of this poem gave me a feeling of satisfaction:)

This applies to humans as well. There's a saying in China, "When you push one into a corner without nowhere to go to escape, them one will fight back because that's all he's got to do to survive.

Children (and many older people) need to be taught how to handle a dog the correct way, and if they don't know any better, they are going to pay the consequences. Unfortunately, some people never learn. In other words, when doggies start to growl, it'd better mean, "Back off, and I don't mean later!" It's no wonder some dogs hate kids or people in general, because of how they were treated!

Rufuz has only bit one person, right on the cheek, as he was trying to get him to kiss him and he was drunk and such and Rufuz just did what came natural...though he play bites me regularly, leaving bit marks, the bum...LOL...good thoughts and a cute puppy in the pic...Ed & Rufuz

Many children are never taught to respect and be kind to animals...then they get bit!
The animal is blamed.
As a border collie lover desipte his death two years ago, I always knew when Enough was enough for Tache. Even if I got it wrong once or twice, the unconditional love he gave me was beyond human understanding.
So often an animal will bite because he has run out of tolerance, he has in every way tried to tell you "LEAVE ME ALONE, YOU ARE ANNOYING ME & I DON'T LIKE IT" them he gets punished because of some parent not tending to their children. Something isn't right here. Thank you for sharing Karla.
