Karla, your point is crystal clear -- but the spin of politics remains unclear -- the apathy of America's citizens has led us to where we currently are -- we must demand accountability from our Congress, our president, the judicial -- reelecting the same style of disingenuine politicos from a different party will never resolve what is wrong in Washington, D.C. -- special interest money in the pockets of politicians will never resolve the challenges of the average American -- love, peace and great joy to you Karla -- and keep us thinking about how to resolve the grave issues facing the greatest nation on earth
Now is the time to tell the President that to fulfill our dreams and his promises we, all of us, need to be invited to participate and make the CHANGE possible.

i like this-i believe that we the people have as great a responsibility as the new president-together, we can make the changes needed to continue the heritage intended by the founding fathers
I think we all have to be patient. We must treat him like we treat any other Presidents - give him the time he needs, for REALLY he has a tough job to do. DO NOT ask the President to prove himself, HE DOESN'T NEED TO DO THAT, all he needs to do is to do his job. He is not God. Don't ask him to be one.

TED - like everyone else, I was mezmerized yesterday.
But, I do have several concerns, which will be either proven, or disproven in time. While the pundits on radio & TV today were saying that the first 100 days, or 3 months, are not enough time - I believe that 30-60-and-90 days will be significant benchmarks!
I believe the man is sincere and means business - the instructions while addressing Congress pre-inauguration - now, the freezing of gov. ees salaries (!))K & above) - the estopping of Lobbyists - QUICK - DIRECT - and NEEDED!
Let's see what he does now about: Banks. Credit, CEO's, NYSE, Mortgage Market, Iraq, Afghanistan - GITMO, Reversal of Bush's Policies regarding Patriot Act, Habeas Corpus, etc. - all these I think are more critical than Auto Mkt. and new 'green' energy stuff.
With Crossed fingers, and Baited breath - I Wait -
What Responsibility will I do?
PAY close attention, and REPORT truthfully, both good and bad.
AFTERTHOUGHT - I PRAY this guy is NOT the one foretold by NOSTRADAMUS!
.. you are not alone..many now are asking "what can I do".. they plan on having internet sites that will give information and resources on things we can do...every bit will help :)
Excellent work Karla! However with the present economy and problems he must face, we have to be patient. I pray he can turn things around,and after enough time we will know just what he can do. Until then I'll be silent;-)

Good straight forward points Karla, and I am hopeful that if he has the support of the people and the Congress good things will be done. Not saying he won't make mistakes and we know all campaign promises cannot be kept but lets keep an open mind.
This is a wonderful write Karla and I do believe that if your new President is given the trust he will prove himself. I believe Barack Obama is a great man. Thank you.

It seemed to me that Mr Obama was already itching to get into the Office this morning and get cracking with the jobs in hand! :)) I'm sure he'll send you a memo in due course... It has been noted this side of the Pond that his speech was quite lacking in the high-style rhetoric that marked his earlier campaign and was very much more intent on "getting down to business"... so we shall see. Like the man says, it's not about pretty speeches of the politicians, but the hard-work and willingness of "we" the People... Great write ! :)) xx
