poetry, the emotions of the heart and soul -- some are tender and beautiful -- we want to live them every moment -- others are difficult and tear deeply at our emotions, -- it is the blend that makes us poets, Karla -- so we write some with acidic tears and some with honey and rose petals -- peace and love my dear friend --Jon Michael
Raw truth abrades like sand paper across our wounded hearts at times and informs us of our worth and of our experiences of life as we travel onward. So well expressed here Karla. hugs and prayers, J'nia
Poetry, not unlike Song-Writing, oft' expresses many emotions -
THE BLUES - LOVE LOST - NEW LOVE FOUND - TWANGY COUNTRY WESTERN - BEAUTY - UGLINESS - CONTROVERSY - JOY (JESU JOY OF MAN'S DESIRING) - HAPPINESS - SADNESS - HUMILITY - EGOTISM - GOOD MEMORIES - BAD MEMORIES - FACT - FANTASY - FICTION -
and more, more, MORE! The entire gamut of humanity, as well as in humanity ...
Better to write than to internalize I suppose. I believe the poetic soul to be a sensitive one. Perhaps writing is indeed the easier, softer way. Nicely expressed Karla.
All emotions are part of who we are, live for today and let the past rest. Keep writting dear Karla and accept what is, what was and what shall be as part of God's plan.
Writing allows us to heal from the pain, it is a gift to serve us as a kind of medicine I believe. My prayers are with you Karla

I confess I must go back and read more of your poetry -- I am always impressed by what you write. Let those bitter tears and words flow so that one day you can put that aside and let the love you do have flow onto that page. I do think poetry can be painful to write because when we write we usually are facing painful moments of our lives we wish we could forget. Remember - each word and tear helps another face their life's troubles with courage when they realize they are not alone. Remember Karla - you are never alone. Take care. Susan
You write with an honesty, a poignancy, that cannot be denied. Powerful pen, and I love the piccy! Very well written/illustrated; brava!

I think poetry is painful to write if we have pain inside of us. As you know, I have blurted out some of my worst sins here at AD, trying to find someway to put the past away so it would not bother me. I have finally done that. No more do I write of my sins, just memories. They are what they are.

MOOD - ATTITUDE - PLATITUDE - GRATITUDE - FEELINGS!
And, think about it - what IS a SONG after all? Is it not a POEM set to MUSIC?
Did not the original Balladeers
stroll the streets,
strumming their lutes,
plucking strings,
singing tunes?
Telling Stories - is this not what it is all about?
I feel Lousy - Let Me Count The Ways!
But, surely - there will be better Days!
I feel Good - see it in my Lays -

Peace - Love - Abundance - TomPussy!
You express yourself freely which is true poetry.

Unfortunately, I don't have the answer.
You've asked it well, my friend. God bless.

It's a hard question to ask and a harder one to answer. Just keep going.
