Poem Artwork

who am i, under the reach of her sky?
she covers me in her pain:  it is the
rising and setting of the sun, the
rain silvered like tears -- i taste

them running down my face, broken
little pills that don't go down easy.
ever searching, i.choke -- i know.
how she feels.  crazy.  for him:

worshipping the ground he walks on,
him godding by as if she (i) don't
exist:  wanting just a touch --
hunger.ing.  thirst.ing.  for

more than just a passing glance to
sustain me for one.  more.  day,
knowing it could be fatal
for the both of us ----

--- it's a chance i'm willing to take .. . ...

Wow, Karen, this is powerful, and so beautifully written! Even before I read the comments preceding mine, I thought, "I think this is one of her best!" The lines about your tears are amazing! Oh, this is great! You--not a poet? Hah! You go, poet-girl!
Love, Connie

Some men have all the breaks but are too schmucks to appreciate it!
For an author that claims not to be a poetess, you write better than one.

Karla, I don't know if it's possible, but I think your poems are getting better all the time. That's hard to believe because all you poems before were so good. Great work!

With Love,
Cindy

Wow! Karla - a fabulous tribute and a fantastic capture of the Nessie pen and POV. I salute you - her style is pretty much inimitable and any attempt to write "after" her/it has my admiration.

And your unique thoughts shine through these lines, too:

the
rain silvered like tears -- i taste

them running down my face, broken
little pills that don't go down easy.

...

him godding by as if she (i) don't
exist:

Have to admit to intense envy of your making a verb out of God - that's totally MWAHSS and then some! Rockin, Karla! You do Anessa proud. xx

Karla, your poem complements that strangely exotic photo. It looks like two dancers and the long femnine arm reaching out is grasped by her partner. Interesting write and great perception.
