Yes, Karla. I remember watching it on TV myself that day. I also remember when I was ordered to Fort Sill less than 4 years later I was worried about tornadoes. But while I was stationed at the fort there were none to be found; thank God.
Welcome to the alley, indeed. If we counted up the death and destruction over the years that tornadoes have caused it would be a most monumental thing. A tornado when she was a child that killed many farm animals and destroyed many homes and barns remains etched in my mother's mind as a lasting memory.
