Poem Artwork

she looked on the side of the cliff
to see if he had fallen from the embankment

he disappeared from view for some time

leaning over the precipice
surprised and somewhat bewildered
she saw him aloft in a sailboat
sailing across the bay through fog

transparent and mysteriously animate
propelled by winds of bone

... I sometimes have a hunch you write inside-out and upside-down... by that, I reckon you invert gender references or situational circumstances to write as it were from a mirror image. Just an observation: it matters not to the overall interpretation of the message of the poem and it is something we all do when trying on other people's clothes! Yep, of course I'm back on my usual Johnny Depp/Jack Sparrow tack again and maybe it's me but I reckon Kiera Knightly/Elizabeth Swann would have got to that crow's nest first in this instance, which leads me to think that heroics are actually at the root of this tale, rather than felonies. But then, I am left-handed... and useless with a sword! :))

A goodun Jude! Could easily be the prologue for a riveting short-story. I don't know if it's just my aging eyes, but I swear I see a ghostly face in that image. blessings brother ....

Some never go too far away, in our hearts, in our thoughts. Like this poem so much Jude. A glimpse of immortality. Like the new bio pic, we can finally see your eyes!

Jude, your poem verges on the supernatural -- cloaked with mystery and imagination -- "propelled by winds of bone" is a chilling descriptor of a style of existence reemerging to the dismay of the world at large, piracy -- this is fine work my friend -- peace and love--JMW

nice work Jude...there is a mysterious touch to your poem and yet it fills our minds stirring the imagination into other thoughts...

Jude, my initial reaction to your poem was that of trickery, pretending to be dead in order to get away from an unfulfilled relationship.
Then I re read it, and I think that the woman is seeing a ghost of the man she was looking for, as though the mist was distorting her vision and she imagined him on that ship sailing away.
Very interesting poem, I always wonder what your inspirations for your writings are. You are a very intriguing author, Jude ForEse.
Much peace, love, and light, dear man,

Jude - enjoyed the images and the haunting, mysterious tale. Especially
liked the image of him sailing through fog,

transparent and mysteriously animate
propelled by winds of bone

He was sailing away from skullduggery, an underhanded and fraudulent act perpetrated upon him by a hard heart, bone winds signifies a death reborn through the mists of time...lot of them skulls floating around this den...

Graphically word mastered as the image flairs up in the mind's eye as you put it down one stroke at a time, deep and intense but yet so vivid the reader can draw his/her own conclusions on this one easily.

This flows like a confusing yet animated dream...unable to awaken yet befuddled by what is being projected. If dreams are the windows to our soul, one might spend a substantial amount of time trying to figure out exactly how this one applies to the conscious self. Interpreting this at only 5 am is more than my still sleepy and cobwebbed mind is ready for. Nice work, Jude.
Take care,
Sherry

The stuff of what nightmares are made of...are them black and white or a man can get them in color? one can get bewildered for less.
As usual, you needed just a few strokes to paint the whole.
