Tybee Island sunrise.

Poem Artwork

Staring at the dawn of a new tomorrow,
Which becomes today.
Will it bring new beginnings,
Or only pain of old mistakes,
Sent from Hell to torment me.

Trying to move forward,
I struggle with the plight.
Looking back is of no avail,
Nothing to be done that hasn't already been tried.

Insanity is repeating the same behavior,
Expecting a different result.
I continue to hope for a better day,
True love is only a smile away.

An interesting write, Walt, which could be the chronicle of millions of us every year. No, we don't want the pain of old mistakes. And we don't want to experience the insanity of repeating the same behavior and expecting a different result.

The secret to relationship success is to choose wisely and keep paddling till you reach the far shore.

I think far too many of us jump ship after a couple of big waves come along and sting our face with a salt-water splashing. But in life, there are always waves coming along, some big and some small.
If you chose wisely, you already have true love. The trick to enjoying enduring love is dedicating yourself to your true love and enlisting his/her aid in paddling together to the beautiful shore of committed, dependable, and unending love.

Love is not a heated infatuation. That's lust. Love is a decision. And once you make the decision, don't second-guess yourself. Trust your own judgment. There is no perfect mate. But the joy of a satisfying, enriching and enduring love is within reach. With the right mind-set, it can start tomorrow. At dawn!

There you go again, Walt, pulling my trigger with your provacative poetry. But you're at expert at that!

Richard

Well if you want to be realistic, just add some oil slick to your picture, because that is what is next for our beaches. There will be no better day unless mankind as a whole behaves differently and makes some sacrifices to change his indulgent and destructive behaviors. Perhaps you are not like this but everybody must lend a hand to CHANGE!
Sorry but couldn't help but think of it when I saw that beautiful picture!

Well stated Walt, when love bites us hard on the ass it is hard to just tell our hearts to forget it and walk away, love is often the cause of insanity and even suicides. I am glad the main character in this write knows enough that he has to move ahead, no matter how painful it is.

Dragging the past around with you is never a healthy thing to do. Whatever is in the past is now history..... Kool write, Walt.
