Poem Artwork

Being near is enough at first

But proximity fuels an endless thirst

Your love can withstand a one-way affair

Till the day it happens, so unfair

A chemistry of passion begins to flair

But not towards you but towards the other there

Its then the realization sets in

Without two a relationship can’t win

An observer to a nightmare true

Love moves on, just not with you

Anger, jealousy grip your heart

Secretly though you’re torn apart

A brave persona you portray

While into nothingness you fade

Love abhors a vacuum

Yet hardened hearts adore a tomb

A pain that never seems to die

All that’s left, indulgent lies

A longing gone unfulfilled

Stark reminder, harsh and shrill

Best to be alone it seems

Live love out in quiet dreams
