Poem Artwork

In my dream you were Lancelot
who’d lost his sword but rode anyway
through mists of maybe in search of
round tables, the legendary life.

Duty called you, but louder voice
beckoned, too. Lust for power proven
pulled you away – demanded show
of superior physicality.

Oh, champion of abandoned
heart, return, return to a higher realm.
Already a hero, you know
eternal love we share exceeds all else.

In my dream you were Lancelot
who’d turned back from the ego’s endless
exercise. In excessive light
of day I cannot find you, Lancelot.

Ah, yes. But along with his penetrating blue/brown/green eyes it was the ego part that first attracted you. The poem was well written and touching.

Nicely done, Milady Dawn... I've not departed; I've simply been caged, by forces that would attempt to keep us apart. Fret not, for I shall return. Your Lancelot.
