(Rouge à Lèvre is French for "Lipstick. She was in love with someone who didn't know she existed. He was a painter, she was a plane Jane, no! she could never let him know how she felt. But she'll wait everyday when he left his studio to walk past him--maybe someday he'll notice--just so their shadows would touch at that line...)

Poem Artwork

We’ve never met
never shared a glance
but my world
has become entangled
in the wild
of your hair
and like a seedling
I thirst
for your affection...
From a secret window
at a pocket of my heart
I watch
the curve of your back
the ease with which
each stroke creates
the infinite colors
of me
perhaps?
I wish…
Caught
in a web
of seek and go hide
I’m no longer mine
yours instead...
Another evening
falls
upon this boulevard
Another secret rendezvous
I must hurry
I must go
to the one
I long to kiss
To have
our shadows cross again
that line
when we become one…
and for a moment
the scent of you
all red with passion
paints a kiss
like lipstick
upon my lip

( ...CRUSH ...)

Where do you get your inspiration from? I really need to be more eloquent when I write a review on any of your poems but more often than not I just want to gush spontanuosly about how they've moved me, sometimes for no particular reason...like this one right here. Its simply beautiful

I have to giggle Bernice and smile that my artist friend inspired this writing. I don't think his girlfriend will be too jealous :-) he he he.
