(For all who have ears...)

Poem Artwork

I've been watching
all the things they said
would come to pass
confusion, deceit
lies, murder
pollution, hate
rape, incest
earthquakes, terror
I see them  in you too
you go around in a daze
a black fog
like a crown of thorns
around your head
aching, bleeding
looking and not seeing
hearing and not believing
can you hear my heart breaking
do you see my tears
I weep for you
because you won't hear me
calling
come with me
come to Jesus
let's go home
where we'll lounge underneath
the blazing sun without fear
of cancer ...
heaven will still be
as beautiful without you
but as I have loved you
here on earth
I want to love you still
in heaven...

I always loved that verse... I would have taken you under my wings like a hen would her chicks, and yet you would not... so anguished. Your poem brings out the same feelings. Good stuff. --Charlie
