Excerpt from my book "Lemonade Street"

Poem Artwork

I’ve had my doubts
You’ve been acting aloof
You must really think I’m a fool
To let you walk all over me
My bags are all packed
Don’t wait up for me
And for your information,
Your fly is open.

(Did you forget to zip up your pants? You’ve been forgetful an awful lot lately.)

we bachelors (like me)are often caught with your flies down and there's no one to remind us - Worse, when you notice that while out shopping! So I'll take up (fly) fishing, that'll keep me out of the public eye...(bad pun). Someday I'll buy real estate on Lemonade St.

But why is the fly open? :) Hmmm. If it's called 'fly' for men, is it called 'flea' for women? :)
