For my father.....

Poem Artwork

Slowly everyday
like a splinter in the wind
your fire's fading away

Blowing away
blowing into the sea
--Does the sea indeed
need another gift of ahses?--

Come back
come back Papa
come back to life
build us a mountain from underneath the waves
and when my children's children visit the shore
I will say
look, look, there is your great grandfather
the man who rose above the ashes...

(Like a burning splinter...his ashes in the wind...falling into the sea...overtime, creating a mountain...my father)

oh my, Bernice you wrote this to perfection. I committed my brothers ashes to the sea when he died all too young. He was a sailor and like me loved the ocean. Your father will always live on in the words that you write as you immortalize your love for him.

Bernice, you have a way of conveying to the reader
your pains and sorrows, as well as your joys and
happiness. You are really good with doing this.
You convey your moods so very well.

time has all the answers Bernice, and all the answers have time, we're tangled up between the two, sometimes and many times not knowing really what to do, so you mourn, all good and bad things come to an end, however us humans wish the good ones would never end, hugs&prayers
