Little one
little one
awake with me
in the morning sun
Bring the corn
blow the horn
awake your father
breakfast is done
trim the crops
tend the cows
a wash with milk
and we're all strong
hem the skirts
don't be scared
go tell the tailor
all was wrong
pound the mill
bring the leaves
today we're eating
fufu and stew
Oh, I forgot
your father'll go nuts
now run to the market
for more cola nuts
No time for naps
don't make me snap
crack the egusi
for dinner's soup
wash your hair
don't you dare
admit to your father
palm wine is scarce
Sound the call
(for everyone)
split the wood
then light the fire for
grandma's tales
little one
sleep good tonight
the rooster's mourn
will wake the morn...

She tells the most amazing stories coming down from eons back from generation to generation.
After been there my self in all of Africa's shores and beyond, I can relate with fondness to "little one, little one, awake with me with the morning sun"

I miss visiting Haiti and feeling the unhurried attitude of the people. In some ways it is definitely a harder life, but... on the other hand...they understand the true necessities of life and they enjoy the simple things in life that I often don't take the time to even notice because I am so busy with unimportant things.

The pressure and incoherence of the outside world don't seem
to exist. Maybe that's what makes it sound simple: all the things
one does have a reason and a direct influence on everyday life.
