How often are we tempted by the devil?
I find the worst of these temptations to be
losing of faith and giving up hope.
After suffering miscarriages I always had hope;
if not to be a Mother, than to have Motherly Love
in my heart for all.
When arrested, and invited to spend a night in a cell,
for demonstrating against segregation, I still had hope
that people would open their hearts and fall from
ignorance.
After suffering a mild stroke I always had hope;
that I would strongly talk again and walk again
and speak and do good deeds.
During my husbands two and separate severe
illnesses I had hope,
and I fervently transferred my hope to him;
survive those times he did.
After suffering a heart attack I maintained my faith and hope,
that there were more years ahead of me
to do God’s work.
After losing my mother, nephew, then husband, I had faith;
for I could feel empathy for those who grieve
and in need of my help.
With faith and hope, we have strength
to accomplish whatever we put our hearts to
With hope, we have compassion
for those countless ones who have less than we,
whether it be of spiritual or material needs.
With faith, we find tolerance
of all the people around us in this world
so they, too, will seek peace.
With faith, we find and give love
through the Thanks-giving we have for life
and abundance given us.
No, the devil shall not tempt me to lose my faith or hope -
thanks be with these, we find peace within
ourselves.
I have always believed that to have a great day, we must first give thanks to God for the blessings He has bestowed upon us, not always our wants, but our needs Then, settling in at night, remember to give thanks again, and place our worries in His hands.
Blessings and Thanks-Givings to all…
