The swan whistles in shrill calls from afar
As I sit gazing at a falling winter star
And daydreams dance over freshly blowing snow
Before I realize it is time for me to go.
I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving day
Filled with rich potatoes done in every way
And golden roasted turkey heaped upon your plate
But save room, the pumpkin pie is usually late.
Mountains of whipped cream piled high upon pie
Smiles and twinkles, enough to fill your mamma's eye.
Laughter and memories from this seasonal delight.
Friends and family gathered close, what a sight!
Note: I will be away now until the New Year finishing up the painting which are to be shipped to Europe in January, so to my many friends I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving and a happy and heartfelt holiday season.
