I sit before an open Word Document page.
It stares at me with such incredulous rage
It fills my thoughts with its impotent yells and screams.
It probably will continue tonight in my dreams.
Why does these times of blockage occur?
My poetic muse casts a frozen shadowy slur.
I sit and think and think and think.
I am pushed to that writer’s most hated brink.
In desperation, I take down a book.
Hoping to find a germ of an idea with this look.
Sometimes I do, and happy am I.
Other times I give up and go watch T.V., with a sigh.
Today I thought, why not write about this.
Maybe others have felt such “bliss”.
Maybe others can identify with me.
Perhaps they will share their own slice of history.
Whatever the reasons or causes of this pain,
maybe I can ease my distress and listen to THEM complain.
So, to all others who have suffered from this disease….
I am here to listen, commiserate or perhaps heal this freeze.
Maybe by the time I hear your replies,
I will have concocted more poetry than flies.
I am pretty sure that this proliferation of poems will not be,
but then again, I’ve been wrong before, sometimes quite grossly.
This is a plague I can not ignore.
This breakdown of thought is such a bore!
I feel creative juices swirling around.
But here I sit, nor a word have I down.
AUGH! I cry out in creative dispair.
What words of thought have I to share?
None at all, this thought sits upon my brain.
I think I'll just go to back to bed in shame.

Well you managed to write this fine write. I know what you mean about writer's cramp. I find if I'm trying to hard it's useless, so I'll do something else like sketching. Hope you get out of it soon.
