She cast a spell upon the forest.

Poem Artwork

The pale moon sailed across the azure sky.

Down below, in a dappled glade of magnolia trees,

a woman danced to music that drifted from on high.

Stars twinkled to the magical beat.

The rushing stream near to her slowed down...

better to hear and see this musical treat.

Twirling to the rythym, she wove a magical spell.

Trees swayed to the notes that came from the sky.

Frogs stopped their throats from their usual swell.

Crickets stopped playing their own little tune.

The forest came alive to the lilting tones.

Fairies gathered to join in the dance under the moon.

Abruptly the music swelled and ended with a crash and a scream.

The woman instantly faded and her ghostly light went out, she was gone.

The forest sighed in regret for the loss of the spellbounding dream.

Some other twilight, some other time, some other night,

she might just come back to continue her earthly dance...

and finish casting her love spell in the mystical moonlight.
