The full moon shone down upon the landscape
overlooking the Yule party and all the fun.
Letting those who attended escape from the darkness
and coldness of the winter with friendship’s sun.


The mansion was lit up like the Yuletide tree.
People mingled and laughed at someone’s silly joke.
Fanciful costumes and gorgeous masks were everywhere.
Even the busy hostess was in a beautiful dress and festive cloak.


The dark season is here and the old year is past.
It will start to get lighter and longer each day.
For now the darkness is filled with yuletide light
to dispel the shadows that come out to play.


Not too long now, Valentines romance will be the beginnings of
courtship that will reach fruition in the month of June.
Flowers of white and boughs of evergreen tied up with bows
along with birdseed thrown as they fly off in the Honey Moon.


Soon March will bring the beginnings of the growth season
and the cycle is begun once more:
Sowing, Harvesting, Resting and Rebirth
are all the joyous things that life has in store.
