I walked in a forest dark, all alone Dark as night, dark as death I walked in the forest Came upon a wolf, beautiful and majestic Sleeping bathed in patches of starlight I lay down with the wolf My head upon its chest And listened to the beat, beat Of his heart I gazed into his eyes when he awoke And saw the fires of his passion burn Bright as the sun, fierce as a furnace He spoke my name, I spoke his And knew the dark beauty Of an untamed mind I walk the dark clad forest Dark as night, dark as death And at my side and in my heart My wolf walks with me

Wow! Impressive write...

My favorite line...
"And knew the dark beauty
of an untamed mind..."

Your words draw the reader in and brings your poem to life.
I love the contrast of dark and sunlight and the wolf with a friend.
There is just so much to love in this one...

Fabulous! It was the dark wolf who found me. I'd been living in the light, in the tops of the trees. But darkness found me. And when I tumbled down from branch to branch, I could not hear my heart beat, beat, and I thought that I was dead, but he found me. His eyes burned holes into my belly, my chest, my eyes...and he loaned me his heart to live a while. The wolf, as dark as death and night walks with me. But I choose to live in light. And when the edges of the night creep in, I do not fear. My wolf-friend's waiting just beyond that curtain. --Take care. Charlie
