A little humor

Poem Artwork

They Found a New Toy!

First thing we do in the mountains each day,
Is fill our hummingbirds' feeders before we'd play.
Out they would come for their morning treat.
Sitting there watching them, for us was so neat.

Even the butterflies decided to come and to drink,
They were so beautiful all colors of pink.
But then the bees came to chase all others away.
And wouldn’t let the birds or butterflies drink day after day.

We tried everything to chase them away,
We tried swatting, torching and even tried spray.
Nothing was working, more and more came.
The hummingbirds looked at us, as if we were to blame.

Our friend wildly swung a flyswatter and things looked so grim,
Crash went the feeder and the juice all over Jim.
Soon the birds returned and drank with such joy.
Bees were all gone now, they found a new toy.

2SWEET 2BEE 4GOTTEN! Remember when we used to write that in each other's autograph books? Oh, you don't? That's right, you're younger than I am.
He looks mighty sweet, though, and if there's ANY truth to this tale, the bees and the hummingbirds won't soon forgotten him.

Love ya---Connie

I like this nature write. What a beauty you had in seeing this in the mountains. It must have been relaxing too. You write as if we were there with you. Another good one, Bonnie. Love it.
