O’

O’ how well I remember when I found my first grey hair.
Do you remember yours, or didn’t you really care.
Mine was in my bangs and a beauty that’s for certain.
Shinning O’ so silvery, were there more still lurking?

I searched the mirror carefully to see if there were more.
My husband came in the room through the open door.
“O’ look,” I said so proudly, “look what I have found.”
“The first grey hair upon my head, the beginning of my crown.”

He looked at it with horror, then yanked it with out thought.
Stunned, horrified and speechless, O’ the regret this had brought.

For “My grandmother’s hair of white was her crowning glory.”
“She earned every single one, throughout her whole life story.”
O’ mine’s completely gone, the beginning of my own crown.
My story will not launch yet ‘cause my husband shot it down.

You make me laugh... partially because just last night I was thinking about three of my aunts who were completely "silver" headed for all of my growing up years. I was thinking about writing a poem about them...with their crowns. hee, hee...

As for mine...I guess I can just say that it looks like I have silver highlights... I guess I can blame the kids. hee, hee... But my consolation is that my hubby's hair is even more silvery than mine. :~)

I wish my hair would come in like that. Mine's scattershot: silver through the brown. But more and more, everytime I look: one day. LOL Proud of every one, as I am of the legacy you pen in this write. Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

I love those ladies whose hair is snow white. Mine is salt and pepper and I let it that way til Kris my daughter said Dye it Mom, it will make you look younger. I did and it does, so I try to keep it dyed again. Your story is good and your Grandmother in her photo is a lovely lady. I never had a grandmother.

"O’ mine’s completely gone"

O' does that mean you have gone completely bald...mine seems to have started in my beard, not having kids I guess I don't have the stresses to create it, though my cousin, same age as me, is completely white...Ed

Adorable write, Bonnie; enjoyed! However, I see each grey hair that I have on my head as a blessing: it reminds me that God's allowed me to live another day, and for that I am truly grateful! (When I was born forty nine years ago, me and my twin sister were NOT expected to survive, me, especially!!) That is why I look at grey hairs as a blessing from the Lord! :) Well done!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

Bonnie,

This is just too cute, and too true. When strands of gray starting popping up here and there in my hair, I thought about dying it. But no, with six kids, everyone of them is a badge of honor, I earned them and by golly, I'm going to keep them!

Your Den Sister,
Mary
