Funny, but sad comment on society. I know how the Old Woman in a Shoe feels...the stupid comments we get from people! My favorite...hee, hee, hee... was when my husband went to the store with a couple of our adopted children (since they are black and we are Cauc. it is OBVIOUS to most people that they are adopted...) Someone asked him something about the make-up of our family and he replied that we have 13 children, and that 8 of them are adopted. The man in line behind my husband said, (with a sneer on his face) "You know what causes that, don't you?" My husband turned around and said, "Yes... Adoption!" hee, hee, hee... Needless to say, the man turned very red in the face and mumbled something and then turned away... hee, hee...

The only Mother Goose of fairy tales I now of lately is Texas Barbara and her (good riddance!) offspring W. and "his" fairy tales.

"How about Hickory Dickory Dock the mouse ran up a clock,
With rat poison now used he would have been hard as a rock" -- You are a flat-out RIOT Bonnie ROFLMSAO!!!!!!!!!!
I love this one, Bonnie, but I'm afraid the magic has been wished out of adults. That's why I refuse to grow up, even though I'm getting older. Well done.
I don't think WE have gotten cold, but those youngsters that read that sort of thing have grown older/colder with new technologies & such...they are so much smarter & unbelieving nowadays...whose fault is that, ours? Who knows for sure...? ed
I think it is the society that makes us change. However, some of us always have a child inside us, and no matter how old the tales are, we always love to hear them over and over again.
Fairytales will always live in the hearts of the children. It's the adults who have grown cold.
Your poems are really looking at life as it is. And I know many are not getting cold as from your heart there is only solid gold and inspiration and love for mankind. God Bless you always.
Oh my goodness...this is just too funny....and who would have thought of tackling or saying such things about these precious fairy tale hero's? hahahahaha..... good and funny... hugs, lindalaw
A naïve councilman and a down-on-her-luck single mom try to save their county’s last stand of forest from greedy developers and a dysfunctional government.
