It started with a poem
It wasn’t even that good of a poem
A few words thrown together
To create an idea, plant a thought
And it did, surprising both of us
No hint, of heat to come, of nights sweating
In a passion of thought and idea
Hours spent offering, accepting and changing
Dreams, passions, wants, dislikes
We gave it all, we shared, like we had not shared
With lovers in our beds, lips pressed together
Bodies slipping around and through reality
This love we found had more depth, more passion
That those we explored and cast aside
Found lacking, in something needed to fulfill
In something missing, in depth
It started with a few words, thrown together
To create a thought…it created instead a being
And we breathed life into that being
Until it was us, until it lived and breathed
With our air, our love, with our thoughts
With our desires…this thing..we created
It lives…
