HORSEMAN'S COMING

horseman's coming
riding his midnight black steed
horseman's coming
to commit his fornicating deed

Lock up your daughters
close your windows and doors
horseman's coming
in any direction
the wind blows

Take heed of the warning
don't regret the new
morning
For if you do
your heart will surely bleed
As horseman's coming
digging his stirrup into his steed
And you will never see
your daughter again

He'll disappear into another
terrain
And she will be mesmerized
into thinking
she is to blame
And will hide her shame

He steals hearts and
burys them
in the shifting sands
When you look for the remains
you find just the the stains
of a broken heart

Tears like shards of glass
fall into the night sky
as I recall the fright
when horseman came to my window
one night

I heard the call of the wild
I saw his handsome face
turn to the moon
I resisted the urge to swoon
For if I did
He would have undressed my
bed
and bundled me into the night
Never to return to tell
this tale!

Horseman's coming
I tell no lie
straight from the horse's mouth
to your watchful eye
Leave open your gate
and it will be too late
For Horseman never
crosses the same river twice
And you will spend a lifetime
wondering why
You didn't hear your baby
cry

I grew to be a woman
And I am haunted by a past
That horseman will return someday
But I know
To my dying breath
That only memories last

Horseman is no myth
He is legend
And if I took an oath
I would say
The sounds of his steeds hoofs
remain with me
Today.....

Horseman is a coming
Horseman is coming
Horseman is becoming
A long lost legend of Today.
