The rage that was inside you
The way you were back then

To talk back or defend myself

You have your alcohol to console you
Your bottle to hold near
I'll put my number by the phone

As I slam out the door, Mama
I wonder which of us won
it shameful how alcohol can disrupt relationships ...

Linda, an extremely heartfelt composition, my friend. Only you have the unique brilliance and capability to reach this far into one’s soul, and yet, still allow one to walk away with their head held high. Fabulous write. Thanks for sharing it. Take care and be well.

Sad poem. Sad premise. When someone is not a good person it is not always clear why. But in the case of most of us, the cause is painfully clear. Usually it is self-lothing, or self-importance. And sometimes it can be both of the extremes at once.
