As a child I see my Father- his hand
in mine leading the way-
Gentle , yet strong, he walked with me-
we sometimes stopped for play.
A baseball bat and glove in
the late evening sun-
Just me and my dad - Oh, you
should have seen him run!
As a teen I see my Father trying to
understand the new me-
But my earrings and punk hair
style was all he could see.
I rebelled as he marched on to
a different drum-
I wish I could have known then -
the things that were to come!
As a man I see my Father in a
different kind of way-
How I long to reach back in time
and change yesterday!
I wish I could hear his voice -
feel him hold my hand-
Tell him that I love him one more
time...pray he understands.
Be good to your Father, my dear friends,
you never know the day-
The Lord will claim His weary child-
and carry Him away!
Don't let your heart be hardened-
tell your Father..I Love You.
Once his name is etched in stone-
There's nothing you can do!
Authors Note: I lost my Father years ago. Every fathers day is so sad for me. If you still have yours...by all means...PLEASE....go to him...show your love and devotion. Don't wait intill it's too late!

I know the feeling without one, or just plainly "without" one. Thanks for a thoughts-provoking piece.
