Swirling in a bottomless pit - so black and cold-
The darkness beckons me - it claims my soul.
Despair is all around - pain rages on-
No one to love me - Everyone gone.
The clock keeps ticking - time rolls by-
Pain like a knife - all i do is cry!
Sinking deeper and deeper in a world of my own-
Never hearing the door or the ringing telephone.

When will it stop - the pain I feel inside?
Just want to be alone - just run and hide.
Can't eat are sleep - just swirling down-
Tear's falling - Echos -what a lonely sound.
If the sun comes up tomorrow - dont matter to me-
Darkness invades my life- it's all I can see!
Shadows engulfing - my body just a shell-
I just want to die - cause living is hell!

Can't stop the demons raging inside of me-
The swirling darkness will never set me free!
Blinds closed - doors locked - silence everywhere-
Lost in the cold, dark pit- unyielding despair!
Screaming inside - The pain just goes on-
So much saddness than I've ever known.
Swirling -sinking - can't fight my way through-
No way to survive - nothing I can do!

Darkness eating me alive- no one hears me cry-
Swirling pain all around - I just want to die.......

Heart wrenching but another great write! We have talked about the subject of depression many times linda, and you know that, along with many others, I am here for you to talk to at anytime. As Morchius said, a prison without bars. Living with depression is just that, a prison without bars. I am here with many others for you to talk to Linda..I love you sweetness....your friend, Ross

Linda I talked to you about the comment I left on "Depression." Someone hacked in some way and took it off. I am so sorry this happened and I can guess what happened and so can you. This poor fool keeps trying to disrupt our lives. Well I cannot recreate my answer. So I wrote a poem with "Depression" in the title to replace the comment. I love you deeply. It makes no difference what happens to me. Bill xoxo

Linda! Linda! Linda! How bravely and boldly you are as a poet. You reached inside yourself to express a dark place in the road that so many journey. Whether from sheer observation of the world around you or a tangible personal experience, you masterfully painted the scenes of raging and swirling darkness.

Those who can go beyond the first wall and climb over and down through the tunnels of emotions, be they dark or of the light, those writers have a special gift and are needed in the world. And Linda, you're one of the lucky few. Brave on and go where no man has gone before...this is the only way we seed our writing diversities. It makes us stronger because of it.

Thanks for being empowered enough to take us through the darkness. I do hear the 'voice' crying, and so I cry too. A towering read!
Love,
Marion

I'm with Silver Celtic Moon - don't be alone. If this is how you are feeling, talk to your doctor and make an appointment to see a therapist. Hoping you are ok. Great poem.

So intensely felt--powerfully expressed...
And, yes, the pit feels bottomless, but it is not forever.

I know how living with depression feels and it almost killed me. I hope this is just a way to express yourself. If not, go see your doctor...there is medication that can help...and depression is not something that you should to be ashamed of...there is help out there. ~hugs~

This wrenched my heart. No one should go through this. Look, never believe a lie. You can make it through any darkness holding the hands of God.
