Jesus
can I be an angel
what can I do
I want to go to heaven
do you need me too
I promise I'll be good
I'll dance around Your throne
mommy won't even notice
that I'm gone

angels don't bleed
or do they cry
they bounce cloud to cloud
on wings that fly
angels don't hurt
from a body black and blue
Jesus, please take me
to heaven with you

angels aren't scared
they don't feel no pain
they don't lay on sheets
with crimstone bloodstains
angels don't have bruises
or cry in the night
angels don't hide in closets
to keep out of sight

angels don't hurt
from a body black and blue
Jesus, please take me
to heaven with you

amen

This should be published on a site for abused children. This magnificent writing tells how an abused child is torn.

Hi Linda a child imagination is so pure, clean, and untainted by the wourld. The Lord said in order for us to get to heaven we must become as a little child! Thank you for the reminder and such a beautiful peace of poetry and music. God bless you and America and may peace never cease.

Just one small request.
Please put "Jesus" in capital letters.
Your ONE talented lady. Let your light shine through.

Oh Linda I read your words and cry as I think of all the little innocent children out there being abused in so many different ways. We aren't suppose to take anothers life but God how I pray for each who does this this to a child to be treated the SAME. Thank you for sharing.

Oh Linda, I am not an angel for the waterworks are going crazy. If only abusive parents could read this write, the world might be different. Well done, love, Bonnie

Powerful piece of writing, Linda; God bless the little ones!

And may we learn one day to love, cherish our children instead of hurting them!!

What a sweet and lovely poem!

I wish I could have shared this with my children when they were young.

Seems like your poetry should be published in a collective book about child abuse and neglect. A great one.

Linda,

As poignant as the first time 'round, this needs to be shared again and again until the adults "get it." Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Nicely-done, Linda! I'm glad you always have a voice for the little ones who are defenseless for themselves.
