Let me hold you close , my little girl..
You know you have been my whole world.
Rocking you in the silence, trying not to cry..
Today the doctors told me you were going to die.

I feel your tiny heart beating on my chest..
Close your eyes , sweet baby, try to rest.
An inoperable tumor , the doctors found..
My head is spinning around and around.

My tears fall on your precious little head..
I know I should just put you to bed.
I want to feel you alive in my arms...
Breathing and sleeping safe from harm.

A year of your life you have given to me..
Your beautiful smile is a joy to see.
Moonlite fades as shadows hide.
Darkness invades the bitter tears I've cried.

The chair rocks on as the hours tick by..
Can't stop this clock even if I try.
Each minute it takes another minute from you..
Sweet baby, my heart is breaking into!

Night turns to day, I just can't let you go..
Holding you close is all that I know.
A crying Mother with a shattered heart..
A dream broken and torn apart.

I count 10 little fingers..10 tiny toes..
Sweet smiling face ..your hair in a bow.
Rocking as you sleep .dreams in your head..
Tears flowing down as I lay you in bed....
