The Youngest Heros A Mother sits with tears Holding her sons hand Trying to find a reason Fighting to understand Praying for a miracle For her five year old Leukemia hasn't won Or the ending told The Youngest Heros A seven year old little girl Long blonde hair In a hospital room In her wheelchair Paralyzed from a fall Her spirits are dim Her chances of walking Are very slim The Youngest Heros A tiny newborn baby Born premature Struggling for every breath His future so unsure A little tiny body A brave spirit within Keep fighting , little one You will win. The Youngest Heros They are in hospital and homes Take a look around There the sick and the helpless Can be found. Their courage speaks, through Hearts that shine These little children could Be yours are mine... � Linda Hill 2003 Repost

Linda, I'm glad I read this my granddaughter died at 6 days old,and my daughter had to go through it alone because I was too ill with cancer to be with her, to me she is a hero, and so are you for this poem.

Linda, I'm glad you reposted it,,for I somehow missed it the first time. It touched me deeply for I gave birth to one of those premies, three months to exact. For six months I stood at his bedside praying for every breath he took. It worked! He is now 23 and in perfect health. God still lives and works miracles daily,,Thanks Linda for reminding me,,,Lisa
