Faded Rose

Poem Artwork

Faded rose
Now cold and unyielding
Losing its
Sweet fragrance
Its petals slowly
Dropping
As dreams blown
Away by the wind
Its stem bending
As if
In torment
Of living

Faded rose
Painful briars
Protecting
Its delicate beauty
Not allowing anyone
Inside
Red velvet holding
Precious nectar
Wilted and alone
Its mysteries
Go untouched
Unleashed

How alike we are..the faded rose and I

Dear Linda, This poem although well written with much emotion. Unfortunately it is negative emotion. This writing bothers me. I really cannot understand your thinking. You are the dealer in the card game of life. You have to make that important decision. Stay or Leave.

Roses are beautiful to look at
when in full bloom
Then it gently fade
It colour changes

But the real beauty of a rose
is always inside
It is upto the rose
to keep that true beauty

No that is not true. There are many in this world who can and will love you just the way you are. You cannot turn back the hands of time to another era, and choosing those who are from a newer and younger era
makes your life a mismatch that doesn't fit your choices. The comparison of youth and wanting to share your life beyond its pale, is what is shredding your heart. Look to those who can love you on a mature level and rise to that level. You are a mature Lady. Let your heart be free, but your choices be differernt. I never ever wanted to hurt you. But you thought I did. I only wanted to love you and you were seeking something else I could not give you. Now is time to pick up the pieces of your life and move on to better things. I wish you only good luck and happiness. And changes will come whether you make the choices or not. Nature does that to us. Bill
