Wounded Angels
Crying in their dark corners
Bruised and bleeding
From another attack
Some lay in their beds
Hungry and afraid
Their fetal postion
Holding the fear in
Their hearts screaming
For release
Their bodies aching
Sore and broken
Wounded Angels
Watching out the window at
Other kids at play
Knowing they can't go out
Because no one must
See the bruises
No one can suspect or
Mama will be mad
No one to help or care
If only life could be
Like the little kids at play
I fear he will never know
Wounded Angels
Afraid of hearing footsteps
Scared of the door opening
Knowing the rage
That is sure to be there
Tears never stop
Their flow
Only pain and suffering
Hate mixed with terror
And utter darkness
Is the world
Of our wounded angels

I'm reflecting on another way angels are wounded...by not being recognized.
Our children are here so briefly...we need to grab them and tell them how very happy we are for the gift of each one.
I'm the luckiest of men...for if I ever do forget to tell him...my son will be sure to grab me in a moment anyway. And when you are in a hug of love...it really doesn't matter who started it.

There is nothing worst then a child being hurt. This is a painful write that has been well done.

This is soooooo extremely touching a write...for both our children and Trask Linda! I hope you and Trask never give up the fight to help our abused children and put a end to this horrific plight!
