This is a true tale and everytime we talk about...
Once upon a time
There were four sisters
All in their jammies
Ready for bed
Their parents were out
Celebrating
A wedding anniversary
Out of no where
An explosion occurred
It was the furnace
An oil furnace at that
Smoke filled the utility room
One of my older sisters'
Called the fire department
When they knocked on the backdoor
The older two would not answer
For they were dolled up
With curlers in their hair
Screaming for us to open the door
This went on for a minute or two
We didn't want to open the door
For baby sister and I were shy
One of us finally succumbed
Glad there was no fire!
Giggle...I have four sisters too....and can totally relate...giggle...glad it wasn't a tragedy...but I can understand their reluctance to let anyone see them with curlers in their hair...Oh the stuff we women do in the name of vanity...this was so cut...thanks for sharing!
I had four sisters so Yes I can all too well remember them putting their hair up in them huge rollers and tying scarfs over them and yes...they would have probably burned to death before letting someone outside the family see them.

The Wholly Book of Genesis is a humorous satire on the first book of the Old Testament where the Story of Creation, the building of Noah's Ark, Sodom and Gomorrah and the families of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are thoroughly spoofed and broadsided.
