People have no idea how much a child can understand and the depression is not just in adults. Children suffer from depression too. Without help, they become victums and see no way out.

Cupie Doll

By Kathy Lynn

The party has started

She sits all by herself

Just a small person

A Cupie doll on a shelf

All dressed up in her finest clothes

So all the guests will know

That her parents care

But it is all for show

They have hired a nanny

So that they can go their own way

Some one who will take care of her

As she lives from day to day

There are no hugs and kisses

For this small lovely child

She is just like a trophy

Just a pretty cupie doll

So this beautiful little child

Hides in the bathroom one night

Her life is in shambles

She cannot see the light

She finds her dads razor blades

Unwrapping one from the box

Looking at it with tears falling

Her wrists she slits,

 the door she locks

These parents seem so shocked

When they find her lying there

But all that know them

Know that.....

 they didn’t really care

Powerful poem on how some never really share there love with their children and the consequences are deadly for the poor neglected children.

This was as if you read my deepest, hurtful, darkest secrets. I was a Shadow Child, unloved, unwanted but allowed to stay and reminded of that fact everyday of my life! HUGS! SC

Once again you express a theme that is harsh and real and far too common in this life/world, Kathy Lynn. Thank you. Love and hugs,

Regis

A tragic tale that has happened all too often I fear. You capture well the hopelessness and the feeling of being all alone that these children deal with.
