Ready, Set, Feast
Gobble-gobble, pick-pick
We’ll eat until it makes us sick
When for dessert we have no room
With Pumpkin Pie we’ll meet our doom
Then to the couch we all do waddle
Stopping by the food to dawdle
We all sit down to watch the game
As I nod the others do the same
It’s tradition on this holiday
That we all chow down and eat this way
The nap’s expected we all know
But don’t sit by Mac ‘cuz you know he’ll blow
When we wake its time again to feed
As we slurp like hogs in festive greed
Then we all complain that we ate too much
As we continue to munch on chips and such
Too pained to sit with all the others
We choose to hang with sis and brothers
For our bodily sounds they’ve heard before
Plus we know to sit by the open door
As the nodding kicks back in again
We bid farewell to all our kin
But not before we stack a plate
To munch on later, after all we ate
And we take an extra piece of pie
With whipping cream piled up high
Because you know we never get enough
Of all that great Thanksgiving stuff

P.S.:
Reading this brain's striker and creativity stimulator, "Ready, Set, Feast" I thought: "WHY NOT FAST on all holidays?"
and captured every nuance. What a great poem! Thanks for sharing and Happy Thanksgiving to you!
