He led a life that didn't miss much
It was well acquainted with the touch
of the level playing field - left a lasting
impression in the shape of glass and
mirrors; one was clear, one was dark.
Glass and mirrors that were spherical
shells, trophied in his environment to
show that he did exist - reflected what
was important clearly; cloaked the
unimportant in a glass darkly.
With all that transpired in and during
his life, the spheres always appeared
to be working overtime - then when he
died, they were both donated to the
family trust; first come first observed.
What would be seen was a one
dimensional endless surface - all
points being equidistant from a fixed
point; all of his knowledge and traits
wiped clean at the time of his death.
The only thing left were lines in the
glass and mirrors indicating precisely
what he did and said; all his descendants
had to do were to decipher the hidden
messages - convexed in spherical forms.
Once deciphered, they would plainly see
that he had been helpless in an important
sector of his life - gave more of himself
than should have been expected for a man
of advancing years - that caused his demise.

This poem is a reflection of all of us - who live our lives for others.... and forget to live it for ourselves.
