Keep Me Alive


I need your love to keep me alive,
You alone hold the key to my heart,
And the memory of my dreams-

Like a wraith you enter my soul,
And give me the will to live,
How shall I live when you are gone,
And not with me anymore?

What shall I dream of then,
But the shadows that have haunted me,
Since I was ten,
The terror of revealing myself,
To those who will destroy all that I am-

I use you like a lifeline,
To keep my feet grounded in the
Cool damp earth,
Under a blue sky,

And weep with silver tears,
With the lack of having no one to share

It’s so strange,
When I think of you,
I smell hot cinnamon and spice,
See you in the falling sun,
And rising moon,
Feel you in the spring rain,
Washing the sorrow from my life…

I feel you in my heart,
Like a ghost,
A most welcome host!

To stop the deadness in my heart,
From growing harder every day,
Making me feel so numb…

And smile so beautifully,
That I feel alive-

I see the life in your eyes,

Only then do I feel love!
Swirling around me,
