A Collaboration of John Black Feather and Reindeer
Seasons of Our Love
In spring,
Our love buds,
Sweetness and light,
Making our lives a joy-
We are young now,
And everything is possible,
The future knows no boundaries,
And we feel that love will last forever…
By summer our passions burn brightly,
Raging fire that sears our souls,
I love you so much it hurts-
And you cannot bear to leave my side…
In fall the fire has dampened,
To a deep understanding that,
We shall be together for ever,
We move slower now,
And those passionate kisses are forgotten,
Instead there is comfort to be found,
In holding you close watching the moon rise…
Winter’s pale moon rises,
Yet our love has never dimmed,
We are closer now,
Then we have ever been,
Our hearts have remained young,
The weakness of the flesh has staked its claim,
And though age shows itself to others,
I am blind to its revelations,
Seeing only the lovely beauty,
I long ago claimed as my bride…
I think this is simply beautiful. Can't say it any other way. Great collab. It speaks to the part of us that longs for that lifetime companion. ~~Nordette
A beautiful testament to a beautiful and enduring love that involves the full spectrum of passion's moods and seasons. This speaks of a deep unity that involves the mutual sharing and celebration of the whole persons, and where balance and harmony shape and nurture your co-exitance. Breathtaking, Retta, thank you. What a captivating portrait of shared life and intimacy that spans time and weathers all pain. Emotionally moving and spiritually beautiful throughout.
This is the stuff dreams are made of, Reindeer. Your poem is breathtakingly beautiful. The collaboration is as seamless as the unified love of which it speaks. Wonderful work!
Take care,
Sherry
This is so in line... and in tune... with the lives My Love and I have lived... and are living. Thank you. It is rare that younger persons think about such, much less write beautifully and accurately about it. Keep this one for regular reading... as the years wind down. And, do that extra fifty percent it takes to stay in love! - Bill
I met Jerome on a busy city street in Baltimore, Maryland, when he was forty-five years old. On that particular day, I was out and about, enjoying a much-needed day off from work.

Reminds me of my parents, Mom gone, Dad in a nursing home-but still wearing the ring, still knowing love.
My ring is gone already.
