Einstein loved his violin, his sailboat, and his curiosity

Poem Artwork

My Violin, My Sailboat, and Me
(A Tribute to Albert Einstein)

I’m as happy as I can be
My violin, my sailboat, and me
Wailing and sailing on the sea
Far away from the shore
Who could ask for anything more
My violin, my sailboat, and me.

I don’t owe one thin dime
I don’t even know the time
The wind takes me to my destiny
The 8th root of 33?
That does not bother me
I get my vibes from the tides
That’s plain enough for anyone to see
I’ll play a tune about old Rangoon
Then come ashore about half past noon
A captain’s log is for others not for me.

So don’t take life too seriously
Let it float by mysteriously
When your time is up
Leave an empty cup
Reduce things to its mass times square of C
Don’t worry about tomorrow
Spend little and do not borrow
And maybe you’ll end up just like me.

I wish I could. Unfortunately, I've yet to learn how to truly experience life and not just barge my way through it.

Ha, how Einsteinish this is. Love the creative flair in which you delve into this brilliant man's mind. Nice one Edward, hope your keeping well :)

Anyone would like to have an epitaph like that. Straightforward, personal and to the point.

Hmmn, wouldn't it be "interesting" to spend a day as Albert Einstein, although I am not sure I would want to "end up just like me" ? ?

Lovely, clever and amusing. You have written the perfect ode to Einstein and you have also described the perfect way to living a life in peace.

Very good chance I will end up like you. Living the frugal life, and enjoying a Spartan lifestyle has been too rewarding to long for the opposite, which I experienced for a long time. Yeah... your words are golden here. Write on.
