New Ice Age

The days are dimmed
Life has less light
Existence is becoming
Lightless
I
Seldom see the sun
Dawn is
Dismal
Dull
Dark
Damp
Mist rules the river
Below
Moss is growing everywhere
In cracks and fissures
It is
Dismal
Dull
Dark
Damp
I would like to hide
There
If I could
Where
May feels like November
Your going
Is taking your light with you
And leaving
Me
In the dark
How long before this hell
Freezes over
And all is numb
Once more?

Darkness may turn into light at the blink of an eye. When it you at your darkest, nothing but to come out into the light and upward and try once more and leave that old ice age into a newer ice age.

Regis,

This one gets me thinking. We are surely meant to cross roads with certain people. Some of those roads remain parallel over a lifetime while others venture off out of sight. "Meant to be" does so little to take the sting away when a road first curves. All we can do is glance ahead with hope. Hugs:) Sheila

hand in moss
dark in a hole
knowing that,"the one"
could easily put their hands down and pull me back to the light

Wow Regis,
I thought it would take me all night to read all your reviews for this one. I think that that means you have a great emotional piece here. But I am not surprised, all your works makes one stand up and pay attention. I felt a lot of pain in your heart as I read this poem. I wish you warmth, peace, and love.
Your bio picture is cool. You once had hair, and I once was thin, but no matter, we are still the same people inside.
Love and Blessings,
Judith

Wow.
My best work may get 10 reviews if I'm lucky.
I believe I'm #44 here.
Are you so good because of all the input?
But nobody need say anthing but "Wow" to your talent.
This captures the depths of the chill so well.
So "Wow" and hopes for warmer days.

This is a usual perspective for me, but it is hard for me to see it in you. You seem so nice. Can it be that you have a dark side too? I wonder if you, (like I) role play a bit to expand the area in which you write.

This is a great write. I enjoyed the way I was imediatly taken to another world and time.

My goodness, Regis.. we poets often scrape our depths, rendering some aching words and recognizable emotions... but... somehow, reading this very moving sadness from you feels expecially sad... you have so quietly, yet so powerfully punctured that secret place we all have that makes us weep... beautiful.. and I do hope you are well. katy xox.
