Photo from my window on a winter's day. A message from you would be invaluable... ...in this space, messages come constantly as the weather is fickle and the times ever changing.

Messengers

What words of wisdom
whispers the winter wind
sighing through the boughs
of stately cedars?
What song does the river sing?
What signs speaks the sky
from clouds where angels are reclining?
What roars the thunder?
What is it trying to tell me?
Who summoned the echo?
What does it have to say?
Why the rainbow?
That ring around the moon;
What does it mean?
And these shadows in the mist;
are they real?
Is it you whispering to me?
I can hear you.
Your voice is unmistakable;
I shall never forget it.
But the sighs of the forest
and the whispers of the wind
are still telling secrets
that I cannot comprehend

It is so nice a river and you living so close, must give you much joy. A view that that is to die for - just an expression. We all search for secrets that cannot be comprehended. Maybe someday we'll know the answers to those secrets.

In quite listen for many messages
will be sent, we only must know
and recognize them...

For nature has much to tell Regis, and we
only need to sit in silence and those
secrets will be revealed :)

Hush... hear her whisper on the wind...

Regis,
A beautiful view:) I must say your poem is equally beautiful. It has a haunting feeling, just as the questions you pose have haunted life for all time. Excellent descriptions and imagery showcase your poetic soul. Love and Hugs~

Hi, Regis. I thought it would be cool to go back and read what you were saying a year ago. I see you were still on Fridays like clock work. :-) This poem was posted two weeks before I became a member of the Den. It's stunning, one of your more well composed poems, provocative and graceful. I love the rhythm. ~~Nordette

Hey Reg, great words of expression here and a joy to read. But I'm going to perfectly honest with you. If that's your window scene, you have a piece of heaven my friend. All I see when I look out my window is houses and goofy hard to get along with neighbors. I'd pay a million to simply have that view. I would float out into it, embrace the joy. G

The majesty and beauty of nature filled with the unanswered questions of love - such a moving contradiction. Was it Peter, Paul & Mary who used to sing, "The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind, the answer is blowing in the wind."?? If so, perhaps those stately cedars will yet yield the answers you seek my friend.

Love,

~Rose~

My goodness! Regis, you have inspiration right out your window, I see. What I found interesting about your poem was the series of questions... surreal, perhaps, some of them... I found that I was connecting them with places in my head that wonder and don't try very hard to resolve.. sometimes, the enigma is enough... something to come back to. katy xox.

One but has to look around the vastness, the beauty, of nature and llife to see what it is saying. We have been given much, a paradise at our disposal. Though the messengers are ever present, some give us answers and some can not be understood by our finite minds. Once again you detailed a splendid write, yet, leaves us with many questions. WOW! You have that in your back yard? No wonder you're so peaceful. The beauty of West Virginia is different, but I still understand the feelings you draw from nature. If you get a chance, look up pictures of Cooper's Rock State Forest. That's where I go to be at peace. Until then, eat your veggies and peas to you.

I think that if I had such an awesome eyefull of the supremacy of nature each and every day from my back window, I, too, might be minded to sit up and take notice of her superior wisdom and knowledge! Human voices speak so many words with so little content, whereas one word from nature silences all and commands all... like you, I so wish I was better attuned to her mysteries! Great write, Regis, that is suitably respectful of our Great Mother. Thank you, Kate xx
