Beautiful poem. True 'friends' are rare, aren't they? The number of friends described by your poem I can count on the fingers of one hand. Don't know if you've ever come across this poem before. It was one of my late wife's favorites.

Friendship stays eternal even when loves may come and go and I would love to be a gumdrop in your bowl of the jewels that you do have as friends just to be near your work and your musings, thoughts and longings. Oh, Regis! What an Awesome and Happy poem to write about!
I am so sorry I have not gotten to write a review of the
poem, until now. All this year, I was in and out of the hospital.
I was doing really well for about 2-3 months; and then had my yearly mammogram and they found a lump on the left side. (Sad frown)
I will make it through this though, just like the brain stuff!
It is nice to know I have your friendship beside me, thru this time of crisis.

I think I found my own desert oasis within this poem. Your sincerity and lack of pretension is always refreshing. I think it more important that one's heart be in a good place than that one be gifted or talented. Luckily, in your case, there's no need to choose between the two.
Regis you expertly and rather humanely described the meaning of friendship and what it is but sometimes one should be alert enough to know the fox from the dog because they look alike very much physically but far different from each other as one is tricky while the is a loyal creature with in-born instincts for developing friendship with others. Thanks Regis I always learn from your wonderful poems.

Thank you dear brother of mine for showing a pictur of the Gay Pride week march...even for us, solidarity musy soon come. We have hidden under the gay umbrella too long. Gay rights are not transsexual rights, because as transsexuals, we are normal people living a normal life, not a lifestyle. Since being gay is an elective lifestyle, the TS community needs to break away from that and fight for our own legislation. I hope that your sister is getting along fine. And maybe someday you should tell her my yahoo address...I'd love to talk with her. I can relate to this so much. Good friendships have sustained me through difficult times. No value can be attached to this. It is priceless. Wonderful poem Regis and I know your friend will be touched by it. Thanks for sharing.

Outstanding write my friend, but on a lighter note it brought to mind an old line I heard years ago.."wives and lovers may come and go, but friends are forever" (something like that)
What IS the special electric that goes through you, when that unspeakable ray of friendship pierces through to the core of our being, to somehow add to its stature and to the enhancement of self and the world? It's extraordinary, isn't it? You somehow know that you are alive and interconnecting at some deep level, making your presence felt in the giving and in the receiving of another person. It kind of roots and grounds you on this earth... Anyway, Regis, what a joy to now be able to "hear" this being spoken in your very own dear voice, now that you have brought to us an audio. Have you seen the Northern Lights up there in BC? None here :( There's always hope...can you forward some down Texas way (along with cooler weather??? LOL).
I wish friendship was forever but some people do not treasure it that way and break your trust, which is unforgivable in my mind. But a true friend is a gift from God and is indeed someone to cherish and hold onto.
