This one shows a gentle soul. "a willow than an oak" is especially telling - an artist's soul with emotion rather than strength. I wonder what we'd discover about ourselves if we all wrote our own "I Am More...?" Certainly we'd be looking inward then~
This is a pretty little piece. It has great flow. The only thing harsh-sounding is the way the tongue gets confused over the last 3 english words. I'm talking iambs here. That's what my tongue wants and doesn't get -- the French I believe doesn't do this (I speak Spanish, not French however, so I only believe this is true.) Toy around with saying it in a different way. "subscribe to be", "avow is true" -- use your thesaurus. It's okay not to have a perfect word for word translation. This is a poem. Don't forget that. So after the translation, you should still have a poem in all its senses. Good luck and God bless -- Charlie

Great poem as always. You said you like the darkest blue...it means you are a very secretive person with deep inner thoughts. Thoughts and feelings that are stronger and have more meaning than the average individual.

You paint a picture of yourself, dear Regis, that is undeniable in its parameters. I do believe that ever one of us can relate to more than one of these comparisons you have written, but I am also sure that we are all capable of both given the right circumstances.

Wow Reg, this is just flowing with positive thoughts. I agree that it is better to be the lesser than the greater, because with greatness there is an image, but if you're a wren instead of a cardinal, then the image is a song, instead of beauty. This is a well thought out poem, and it flows well. The reader is instantly transported into thinking that the lesser is way better than the greater. Thank you for sharing.
