I so like this, it is absolutely lovely and well-written

I can always detect rain by its lovely scent before it
arrives, just like I can detect the smell of autumn
before too...

"Palpable" is the key word here because it connects the synaesthetic elements of the poem to the picture that introduces it. As usual, Regis, a happy concatenation.

"the moon seems somehow shy to me" is a great example of what brings your poetry so resoundingly to life, Regis... this personification adds an air of indifference, a tepidity that blends with the imagery in the rest of this poem to suggest there is somehow a pathetic fallacy at work in the drought... an air of insidious intent...

We ourselves have just come through nearly two months without rain, but are now living through a sort of days of deluge... I won't go so far as to say, a monsoon is upon us, but the lawns and the forests are greening up nicely again... a balm, a refreshing calm is moist upon the land, and the long wait for Rain ... is over, Thank God!
