Cycling
I came upon an apparition
A skating siren
Sailing smoothly
Seemingly effortlessly
With ease she glided
Curves negotiated
In perfect harmony
With her nimble body
She seemed to undulate
Stride by stride
Side to side
Swaying left
Swaying right
In sun drenched morning hues
She seemed to float
On the shimmering heat ripples
As though the road were her stream
Gleaming gliding
Never missing
Pony tail waving
Golden in the sunlight
Fluidly like a mermaid
She swam down the street
When suddenly she turned
Went on her way
To my dismay
The epiphany was over
I am curious to know what came first the poem or the image? I enjoyed this poem. And I pictured you on your bike witnessing with your very own eyes what you describe in this poem.

What a perfect description of this person. I enjoyed reading this poem.
I very much appreciate your inspiration here, mine happens to be the guy that jogs with his infant on the main road, with the jogging stroller, is there anything sexier than a jogging dad ! I'm just saying that would be my picture, probably be arrested if I tried taking it but, maybe I'll write the poem later.....I get this Regis! (and BTW fall here has been so colorful and beautiful, I hope it is there as well!)
Dare I ask where your mind was really at? Yes, a beautiful skating is really admired. That's why I chose figure skates over hockey skates. I sure hope I wasn't being eyed by the guys for doing so!
It is nice to read a Halloweenish piece which is not intended to frighten us - an all too common event which we scarcely notice, until you remind us. Thank you.
Funny, I usually get dirty looks when I notice such a Goddess of Beauty in Motion. Oh well must be just me. Great write. Try not to look to obvious when admiring such pretty ladies. :op
Wonder if that was the same imp I was tailing the other day...she rode her bike straight into the woods and through a tree...following I of course headed for the tree too, but stopped short, knowing I would get smashed...she turned around and said that I was not yet ready to believe in her, I had no faith so she would stop back again in a few years, perhaps one day I will follow her through that tree...e
